Rental Guidelines
Foreword
- Along with the information on this page, our standard rules also apply.
- This is an adult region and we are very sex-positive. Residents and guests are often nude and allowed to use private and public areas to conduct adult activities. We just want you to be aware of this in advance. đ
General
- In order to rez objects on your parcel, you need the Kindlewood Residents invite-only group. This is separate from the Kindlewood Estates group as it is for residents only. We will send you an invite when your rental period begins and eject you once it ends. Feel free to ask us to add anyone else, e.g., a friend, roommate, etc., that will also need rez rights.
- Your land impact ("LI", formerly "prim") allowance is the total LI you can have on your parcel not counting anything owned by us. 'Parcel land capacity' in About Land > Objects may read a lower number than what you are allotted because Second Life sets a number based on parcel size, but this is group owned land with a shared 'Region capacity.' So, if your parcel has a parcel land capacity of 200 and you are allowed 400, do not fret. You can still use that full 400 LI as it pulls from the shared region capacity.
- Platforms and skyboxes are allowed at 2,500 meters and above within the constraints of your parcel size. If you have questions about extending your parcel to accommodate a skybox, contact Scar. If you do not plan on using the home at ground level, all we ask is that you place a small amount of decor items in it so that it is not completely empty.
- Please do not rez nature items outside of your home, e.g., grass, terrain, unpotted plants, etc. We will continue to add to the landscape over time and want to keep it as cohesive as possible while also allowing for easy seasonal changes. Please do not rez any sound emitters. Outside decorations and furniture are allowed.
- There are no ban lines at Kindlewood because they are ugly, but each home includes a CasperSafe security plaque with our logo on it. It is disabled and configured to allow everyone by default, but feel free to enable and manage parcel security with it as you see fit.
- Help us reduce lag by not rezzing any heavily scripted items. Help us even more by removing scripts from objects that no longer need them once you are finished decorating. You can remove scripts from an object manually by selecting it in Edit mode, choosing the Build dropdown > Scripts > 'Remove scripts from selection.' âšī¸ Certain things need scripts in order to function such as interactive decor items and sittable furniture.
- Do not rez on any parcel but your own unless you are given permission.
- Want to save money on adult furniture? We have a collection of items from Cuming Soon, Darkfold Legends, Debauchery, Good Moaning, Rawage, Ruckus. We would be happy to rez them for you in your home. Just let Sascha or Tom Littlepaws know. â¨
About Land Configuration
- Be sure your parcel Build options are configured correctly by navigating to About Land > Options and ensuring the Group box is checked â and Everyone box unchecked â. This allows only Kindlewood Residents group members to rez objects.
- Want additional privacy? Under About Land > Options, you can uncheck â the box next to 'Avatars on other parcels can see and chat with avatars on this parcel.'
- Keep media from bleeding into other parcels by navigating to About Land > Sound settings and ensuring the box next to 'Obscure MOAP' is checked â .
- Need a break from the nature sounds? You can check â the box next to 'Restrict gesture and object sounds to this parcel' under About Land > Sound.
- Please do not change About Land settings on any parcel but your own.
Paying for Your Parcel
- Your rental box is on your parcel in the form of a CasperLet cat mailbox.
- You can pay up to 4 weeks at a time by clicking the mailbox and selecting 'Pay.' Generally, we only provide refunds if an error was caused on our part or by CasperLet. Should a refund be needed, contact Scar.
- If your rent is overdue by more than a week, we will try to reach you both in-world and via Discord well before returning your objects and placing the home back in an available state. We know life happens.
- If you are moving out and want to let us know, click the cat mailbox and select 'Won't Renew' from the menu options or contact Scar.
Thank you for staying with us!
